Brunello di Montalcino owes its birth to the Biondi Santi family.
It was in the mid-1800s that Clemente Santi decided to create a wine from pure Sangiovese, calling it “Brunello”. The first bottle was officially produced in 1888 by his grandson Ferruccio Biondi-Santi. Since then, the history of Tenuta Greppo has been guided by meticulous attention to detail and fidelity to an idea of wine that is simple yet ambitious. A wine with an extraordinary ageing capacity.
