Il Palazzo

Not far from Arezzo stands the Tenuta Il Palazzo, right where there once was a simple posting station for travellers, along the Via del Sale that linked Rome to Rimini. From 1971 the Banelli family began the direct management of the estate, also undertaking the restoration of the old hamlet and the farm. Today all this has translated into 42 hectares of vineyard and 6,000 olive trees, selected among the finest crops. A reality in continuous development, in which a large family is employed.
The cellar is the true beating heart of the estate: earth, stone, wood and steel blend in harmony with cutting-edge oenological technology that oversees the phases of vinification, conservation and ageing of the wines. The soils present a heterogeneous but well-combined structure of clay, sand and limestone (the typical galestro of Chianti), which favour the growth of the grape varieties. The vines are located at an altitude between 300 and 380 m above sea level, in ventilated places with the right exposure to the sun's rays.
