Barberani
Visita il sitoTHE HISTORY The Barberani winery lies on the hills surrounding Lake Corbara. 1961 is the official year of its founding, by Vittorio Barberani. In those years production was limited to Orvieto Classico. In the 1970s Luigi and Giovanna Barberani took over the running of the estate, later passing the baton to their sons Bernardo and Niccolò, who lead it today. The winery's now well-established philosophy rests on five pillars: celebrating the territory, attention to its morphological and microclimatic features, agronomic expertise, winemaking skill and an innovative commercial approach. THE ESTATE The estate covers a total area of over 100 hectares, with 55 hectares given over to specialised vineyards set on hillside slopes with a unique microclimate influenced by Lake Corbara. The family oversees every stage of production, from the arrival of the grapes in the cellar through vinification to bottling. The state-of-the-art technology in the cellar is designed to respect and enhance the natural evolution of the wine, without resorting to chemical treatments. Botrytised wines are the estate's flagship. These wines continue to enchant palates around the world, confirming Orvieto Classico as one of the most prestigious territories for noble rot.
