Michel Fonné

The company's history begins in 1747 with the family's first ancestor, who decided to invest in land planted with vines. Today Michel Fonné has led the estate since 1989 — an independent winegrower, trained as an oenologist and graduated in Dijon. Michel acquired the techniques of champagne-making in Damery and then went to California. At his side is now also his young daughter Sarah, herself a passionate oenologist, ready for new challenges in international markets.
It is in Bennwihr, a village located in the heart of the Alsatian wine region, on the Alsace Wine Route between Kaysersberg and Ribeauvillé, that the Domaine Michel Fonné is found. The Domaine's vines lie within 3 Lieux-Dits (Rebgarten, Roemerberg, Vogelgarten) and 4 Grands Crus (Mambourg, Mandelberg, Marckrain, Schlossberg).
