Canneto

The Canneto farm extends on the western slope of Montepulciano, near the splendid church of San Biagio, and has a long winemaking tradition behind it. With the purchase, the new owners intended to restore the buildings in respect of the winegrowing vocation, building a new winery, buying machinery, facilities and equipment, tending and rejuvenating the vines and olive trees. The estate measures 48 hectares, 31 of which are planted with vineyard; 16 of these hectares are reserved for the production of Vino Nobile. The vines stand on marly soil mixed with gravel, located at an altitude between 350 and 400 m above sea level. The vineyards are mainly oriented to the south and cultivation is by horizontal cordon. A further 4 hectares are reserved for olive trees for the production of extra-virgin olive oil.
