Banfi
Visita il sitoBanfi, known worldwide for its Brunello, was founded by the Mariani family in 1978. Today Cristina Mariani-May, who represents the third generation of the family, is CEO and president of the company. A third of the 2,830-hectare estate, in a single portion, is planted with specialised vineyard, while the rest is managed with other crops. The property is crowned by the medieval castle of Poggio alle Mura, known as Castello Banfi. Carefully restored, Castello Banfi is not simply a destination; it is an ode to “living beauty”, a journey through food-and-wine excellence and luxury hospitality that only Banfi can offer. The refined Il Borgo hotel, the two restaurants — La Sala dei Grappoli, one Michelin star, and La Taverna — the Enoteca, the Balsameria and the Glass Museum: Castello Banfi is a multi-experience in a unique place immersed in one of the most beautiful spots in the world. Since 2019 Castello Banfi has been part of the prestigious Relais & Châteaux circuit. To the Montalcino estate was added, in 1979, the Piedmontese one, today Banfi Piemonte. More recently the company has invested in other Tuscan territories, from Bolgheri to the Maremma, to Chianti and Chianti Classico.
