Champagne Godart & Fils

The company was born in 1948 with Paul, the eldest brother together with his two brothers André and Jean. It is precisely thanks to Paul's impetus that, after spending 23 years working in the cellar of Moët et Chandon, winemaking began at the family company. Together with the skilful hand of oenologist Bernard Pienne, he makes the Champagnes of Godart et Fils distinctive and unique. Today the company is in the hands of Paul's son, François, who carries it on with the same values and knowledge of the past.
The holdings extend over 6.3 hectares in the crus of Moussy, Pierry, Chavot, Vinay and Bergères-les-Vertus. The area is divided into 35 plots with different characteristics of exposure and soil nature, mainly calcareous and clay-calcareous, which confer finesse and roundness. On the labels of Godart et Fils Champagnes appear two designations: RM (Récoltant Manipulant) and Vigneron Indépendant. This means that the winegrower produces and markets under their own label, starting from grapes coming exclusively from their own vineyards and processed in their own cellars.
