Poggio di Sotto

Poggio di Sotto rises on the southern hills of Montalcino, in the municipality of Castelnuovo dell'Abate.
The owned plots, all organically farmed, rise from 190 to 440 metres of altitude on steep ridges at the foot of Monte Amiata, the great extinct volcano that dominates the horizon and acts as a shield against the weather fronts coming from the sea. At 1,738 metres, the Amiata ensures cool night winds descending from the peaks and warm ascending currents during the day, favouring perfect temperature swings that have the virtue of improving, enriching, enhancing and completing the aromatic profile of the grapes.
