Our family has its roots in the Roero since the late 1800s, when the first bottles saw the light in the farmstead set on the steep hills in the “Lioni” hamlet. And it is precisely from his great love for his land that our grandfather Carlo decided, in 1953, to found in Canale, in the current historic cellars, the company that still today bears our family's name.
Following in his footsteps with enthusiasm was our father Antonio who, together with other young producers, was among the architects of the birth of the Roero denomination, an authentic expression of the native Nebbiolo and Arneis grapes. In those years another project very dear to Antonio also took shape, the Classic Method, which from a simple passion developed on the benches of the oenology school became, over the years, with the acquisition of vineyards in Alta Langa, a fundamental part of our history.
Today we — Carlo, Cristina and Claudia — are the third generation at the helm of the company and, with passion and dedication, we carry on this great family story, guided by the teachings and values handed down by those who came before us.
The land: the owned vineyards in the municipalities of Canale, Castellinaldo, Santo Stefano Roero, Roddino and Sinio are the result of a careful selection made over the years with the aim of seeking the perfect synergy between grape variety and soil.
The vine: we seek the purest and most typical expression of each individual variety, enhancing the uniqueness of each vineyard and the nuances of each vintage, to produce authentic, emotional wines.
Sustainability: we are SQNPI certified, a system for sustainability in the vineyard but not only, active in the control of waste and by-products, water and energy consumption, the reduction of packaging and the use of sustainable packaging.
Solidarity: our commitment is not limited to environmental sustainability; art and solidarity meet in our Etichette d'autore (Designer Labels) project, where each year emerging young artists sign, with their works, our social and cultural contribution.
