Ilatium Morini

The seed of the entrepreneurial idea was planted by the founders Luigi and Giuseppe Morini, who in 1980 decided to join forces, as well as their lands, to let a small family-run farm take root, with the aim of cultivating the fruits of the land, in particular the grape, delivered at that time to the Cantina Sociale di Illasi.

Over the years, the children of the founders too — the seven Morini brothers and cousins — joined the company, bringing their energy and skills to modernise the family business.

To the company's historic lands, located in the Val d'Illasi, were added in 1992 the vineyards in the heart of the Val di Mezzane, which surround an old farmhouse from the early 1900s that, in a not-too-distant future, would become the heart of the Ilatium Morini winery.

And it is from the beginning of the new millennium, in 2001, that the Ilatium Morini company was officially founded. The winery's first headquarters found space in a small garage of the ancient family courtyard, where in the past the Morinis gathered to share stories and memories of a life spent in the countryside.

The great novelty came in 2003 when the first wine label was produced, the first specimen of which is jealously kept in the archives of the Morini Family.

It was soon realised that this first headquarters, though rich in memories, was by now too small to contain the dreams and desires of seven young entrepreneurs, so in 2006 it was decided to build the new, modern winery on the lands of the Val di Mezzane, the current headquarters of the business.

At that point the winery was ready to project itself into the future and in 2020, thanks to the careful restoration of the old farmhouse, two new spaces were added: the shop and the tasting rooms.
